Según un estudio de General Electric, las turbinas contribuyen al 20% de las fallas imprevistas en las plantas, y de esas fallas, el 19% se debe al sistema de lubricación. Por lo tanto, el monitoreo del aceite de turbina es esencial.   --- ## **Propiedades del aceite de turbina y pruebas recomendadas:** Viscosidad: Es la característica más importante del aceite, ya que determina el espesor de la película lubricante que protege las piezas mecánicas. Cualquier cambio en la viscosidad puede afectar la eficiencia y posicionamiento del rotor. Se recomienda realizar pruebas de viscosidad trimestralmente (ASTM D445).   Índice de viscosidad: Indica cómo cambia la viscosidad con la temperatura. No suele variar en servicio, por lo que no se requiere un monitoreo frecuente.   **Prueba de oxidación (RPVOT - ASTM D2272):** Evalúa la resistencia a la oxidación del aceite. Una caída del valor al 25% respecto al valor original es un indicador de advertencia.   **Prueba de estabilidad de aceite (TOST - ASTM D943):** Mide la vida útil esperada del aceite bajo condiciones de estrés. No es práctica para aceites en uso, pero se utiliza para seleccionar nuevos aceites.   **Contenido de agua (Karl Fischer - ASTM D6304):** El agua es un contaminante crítico, ya que puede inducir la oxidación del aceite. Se recomienda mantener niveles de agua por debajo de 300 ppm e incluso menores.   ![Castrol - Monitoreo de aceite en turbinas a gas y vapor](https://ingenierialiquida.castrolargentina.com.ar/hs-fs/hubfs/Blogs/Internas/Interna%2001%20-%20Monitoreo%20de%20aceite%20p2.png?width=311&height=269&name=Interna%2001%20-%20Monitoreo%20de%20aceite%20p2.png)   **Tendencia y Estabilidad - Pruebas de espuma (ASTM D892):** La formación de espuma no suele ser un problema grave, pero un aumento repentino puede ser un indicador de contaminación o problemas mecánicos con impacto severo en la lubricación.   **Prueba de liberación de aire (ASTM D3427):** Determina la capacidad del aceite para liberar aire atrapado, lo que es crucial para sistemas con tiempos de residencia bajos. Valores inferiores a un máx. de 4 minutos es lo recomendable.   **Número de Acidez (AN - ASTM D664):** Un aumento en el número de acidez puede indicar contaminación u oxidación severa y debe compararse contra el valor del aceite nuevo.   **Código de limpieza ISO (ISO 4406:99):** La limpieza del aceite es esencial para prevenir el desgaste excesivo de los rodamientos. El monitoreo trimestral es recomendable. Revise el sistema de filtración de aceite lubricante y las prácticas. Continúe con los controles de limpieza habituales hasta que se resuelva. | | **ALARMA** | | Contaminación inaceptable. Tome medidas para reducir la contaminación por partículas. | *Figura 1. Pautas para el recuento de partículas sólidas de aceites lubricantes en servicio.*   **Oxidación (FTIR - ASTM D 7414):** - Mide la oxidación por pico de absorbancia. - FTIR identifica el subproducto de la oxidación en el pico de carbonilo (1740 cm-1). La prueba ICP está limitada por el tamaño del material que se puede medir. Se trata de un chequeo rápido para 22 elementos con tamaño de partículas menores a 8 - 5 micrones. Esta prueba puede no medir partículas metálicas grandes presentes en el aceite que indican una falla inminente. Se debe establecer tendencias de los resultados de las muestras y seguir la metalurgia de cada fabricante. Multiplicador y reductor de velocidad del conjunto del compresor. | | Cobre | Cojinetes y sellos del motor, cojinetes de empuje, jaulas de cojinetes (bronce), cojinetes del sistema de transmisión del generador auxiliar, cojinetes y sellos del compresor de refuerzo, material de babbitt, cojinetes de la caja reductora y accesorios (por ejemplo, bombas), y enfriadores de aceite. | | Plomo | Cojinetes y sellos del motor, cojinetes del empuje, cojinetes de la caja reductora, multiplicador y reductor de velocidad, cojinetes y sellos del compresor de refuerzo. | | Estaño | Cojinetes y sellos de motor, material de babbitt, jaulas de cojinetes del sistema de transmisión del generador auxiliar, cojinetes de la caja reductora y cojinetes del compresor de refuerzo. | | Plata | Recubrimientos de cojinetes del motor y recubrimientos de sellos. | | Antimonio | Cojinetes de la caja reductora, material de babbitt del cojinete radial. | | Aluminio | Presente en sellos de laberinto de compresores de alta temperatura y en sellos de gas de amortiguación. | **Prueba de engranajes FZG - ASTM D5182:** Este no es un análisis de monitoreo de condición, pero es un ensayo importante acorde al tipo de turbina en caso de poseer o no, lubricación de engranajes. Las turbinas con conexiones de eje con engranajes al generador a menudo requieren de aditivos anti-desgaste o de extrema presión EP, para soportar la carga de los dientes de los engranajes. La prueba estándar de la industria para el rendimiento de la carga de los engranajes es la prueba de engranajes FZG, con resultados informados como Etapa de carga de falla (FLS). Los aceites para turbinas R&O ISO 32 o 46 típicos tienen una etapa de carga de falla FZG de 6 o 7. Los aceites R&O ISO VG 32 o 46 con aditivos anti- desgaste o EP pueden dar una etapa de carga de falla FZG de 10, que cumple con todas las especificaciones principales de los fabricantes de equipos originales de turbinas. Las pruebas de engranajes FZG en aceites para turbinas no deberían variar con el tiempo en servicio y no es necesario probar su estado de manera rutinaria a menos que se encuentre un problema específico relacionado con el desgaste. El balance de aditivo EP es importante, ya que un exceso puede ocasionar otros problemas en el desempeño.   **Punto de inflamación - ASTM D92:** - La prueba del punto de inflamación se realiza principalmente para confirmar la integridad del producto frente a la contaminación. - La integridad del aceite usado y del nuevo aceite de referencia es extremadamente importante (la mezcla de aceite "enmascara" el resultado).   **Pruebas y controles IN SITU:** A menudo, la información más valiosa y oportuna está en sus manos en el momento de la toma de muestras. No deje pasar una gran oportunidad de evaluar los parámetros clave de rendimiento de los aceites para turbinas. El uso de recipientes de muestra limpios y transparentes permitirá realizar controles de calidad rápidos y sencillos, como se identifica a continuación: - **Color:** un oscurecimiento inusual y rápido puede indicar contaminación o degradación excesiva. - **Olor:** un aceite con olor agrio puede indicar contaminación o degradación excesiva. - **Aire atrapado:** las burbujas de aire en el cuerpo de la muestra de aceite lubricante deberían desaparecer en 15 minutos. (No confundir con espuma que se forma sobre la superficie del lubricante) - **Espuma:** después de una agitación vigorosa, la espuma de la superficie debería desaparecer en 10 minutos. - **Agua:** las muestras de aceite para turbinas deberían ser transparentes. Si no puede leer la impresión a través de un recipiente de muestra transparente, es posible que haya niveles de agua superiores a 300 ppm. Una simple prueba de crepitación sobre una plancha caliente a 180 °C también puede resultar útil para determinar si hay agua libre o emulsionada. - **Sólidos:** busque sólidos que se asienten como signos de contaminación externa e interna. Su asesor de lubricantes Castrol puede realizar controles adicionales del aceite lubricante en el lugar. Estas pruebas pueden incluir la viscosidad, el parche de filtro para partículas, la concentración de agua y la termografía. El conocimiento del aceite de su turbina y sus limitaciones preparará el terreno para años de servicio confiable. Las claves para este conocimiento incluyen tener la herramienta adecuada para el trabajo y una sólida comprensión del análisis del aceite lubricante para la evaluación del aceite de turbina nuevo y el monitoreo del estado del aceite en servicio. Si se siguen algunas reglas simples, como mantener el aceite frío, seco y limpio y realizar un control periódico del aceite de rutina, los aceites de turbina deberían brindar muchos años de servicio continuo. | *Un programa de análisis avanzado debe contemplar la tendencia a la formación de barnices y degradación del aceite sumado a los análisis físicoquímicos de rutina mensual o visual diaria.* | | --- | El barniz, o "barniz verdadero", es un compuesto crítico común en las turbinas de gas o en cualquier sistema donde el aceite lubricante también se utiliza en el sistema de control hidráulico, regulador o cualquier servo válvula de tolerancia ajustada. Estas partículas son submicrónicas y no son visibles en aceite caliente. También son invisibles para las pruebas de análisis de aceite de rutina. A medida que las partículas de barniz aumentan y saturan el aceite, saldrán de la solución en áreas más frías o de bajo flujo. Se recomienda una inspección visible de los filtros de lápiz (imagen inferior), filtros de última oportunidad y carretes de servo de forma periódica como parte del programa de predicción de barniz. El barniz frío también se puede analizar con un análisis avanzado de lubricantes que incluye MPC, RULER, UC, TAN y otros.
